G. Edwin Tilston
Author of Historical Novels and Science Fiction

A bit about myself:
I was born and educated in England and served as pilot in the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy.

When the war was over, I moved to Brazil as agent for Steamship Lines in the deep-sea and coastwise trades.

This offered me the opportunity to experience new cultures and languages as well as aboriginal ways along the 2,200 miles of the mighty Amazon River from its mouth to Iquitos.

In Peru, continuing as a Steamship Agent, I was also appointed Agent for Fawcett Aviation and Panair do Brasil, as well as Lloyds Agent, Correspondent of the Board of Underwriters of New York, and was also invested as Honorary British Consul.

In Trinidad and New Orleans I continued with the Steamship Agency. In New York I established my own Steamship Agency.

An American Citizen since 1969, I am now retired and live in the beautiful North Carolina Mountains with my lovely wife Elizabeth Ellen Churchill.

The genesis of the books:
During my extensive travels I had the opportunity to visit the sites where the ancient explorers had their visions and built their ships.

Speaking Portuguese and Spanish, from my days in Brazil and Peru, made my research easier when traveling to Portugal, Spain and North Africa.

The Sagas of the ancient mariners set me off on my own journey to write the novels that I hope you enjoy.

The research was fascinating to me and I determined to be painstaking in its accuracy while couching it in swashbuckling and salty adventures.

I hope you enjoy the journey you can take with the mariners of old and the legacy they have left us to this day.
